Introducing JamBoards: live wallboards for every screen

By Michael Sanford ·

JamBoards is a wallboard service that puts live information on any screen with a browser. It started as the wall display system for one home and office, running on Raspberry Pis, a Fire TV and Windows mini PCs, and is opening up so anyone can use it. Early access is open now.

Why build another wallboard?

Every screen on our walls used to show something stale: a slideshow, a dashboard someone forgot to refresh, a TV on standby. Signage software is built to loop slides on a schedule. We wanted walls that show what is true right now.

What does JamBoards do differently?

Three things.

  1. Live by default. Widgets bind to data sources. Write a new value and every wall showing it updates in place, over Server-Sent Events.
  2. Made to be driven. Everything the app does is a REST endpoint, and an MCP server lets AI agents read and update boards, notify walls and manage screens.
  3. Any screen. A Raspberry Pi, a Fire TV, a Windows mini PC or an old smart TV: if it has a browser, it pairs with a code.

What runs on our walls today?

Clocks and weather, the day’s calendar from Google and Microsoft, KPIs fed by scripts, the front door camera live from the NVR, the state of the house from Home Assistant, and whatever Spotify is playing. When a deploy finishes, a banner says so on every wall.

What comes next?

We are opening JamBoards up as a hosted service. If you want a live wall of your own, ask for early access and tell us what you would put on it.
